Claude Monet (portrait in charcoal)

This won't be to everyone's taste, but I think it very fine -- Claude Monet, 1890, charcoal on paper, by American artist Theodore Robinson.  At the Seattle Art Museum.

Thank you for an excellent reminder to get myself to the Seattle Art Museum. I like this drawing very much. Have been thinking about drawing again ever since I saw this drawing.

AM, there really is something special about this drawing, isn't there? I think it's a combination of honesty and intensity. Something like that.
