William Butler Yeats wrote of a real lake island in his famous poem The Isle of Inisfree. This small island lies in the south-east corner of Lough Gill, in County Sligo.
(Note: I know that Yeats spelled the word "Innisfree." I have amended that spelling because the name comes from the Irish inis, meaning "island." It is sometimes also spelled "Inishfree" or "Innishfree.")
Be nice if I actually from the Search, could find WB Yeats: The Isle of Inisfree. Instead I have to reseach books (Internet is SO flexible) and still can't find it.

Barbara, you have two options. First, there is a link above the photograph, offering to provide the poem. Second, if you use Yeats' spelling of the name, i.e., Innisfree, with two n's, you should be able to find it quite readily.
