William Faulkner is not someone I would spontaneously turn to for advice. And yet these words of his strike me as rather good --
I have found that the greatest help in meeting any problem with decency and self-respect and whatever courage is demanded, is to know where you yourself stand. That is, to have in words what you believe and are acting from. -- William Faulkner (1897-1962).
Ciara, thanks for posting this quote and bringing it to our attention. I agree with what he says. Things can be so hard to figure out and it is a huge help to anchor one's thoughts with words throughout the process. I'm "borrowing" it from you (hope you don't mind) and am using as today's quote on my blog, with attribution to you of course. Thanks for your ongoing service to your readers on this site. It's always a dependable place to go for mind-lifting thoughts and beauty! --Nancy
