Brittany

Have you ever heard of the artist P.-A.-J. Darnan-Bouveret?  I hadn't either.  But I was quite taken with his portrayal of these 19th-century Bretons on a traditional religious exercise --

Les Bretonnes au Pardon, 1887

Monsieur Darnan-Bouveret executed a similar work titled Pardon in Brittany, 1886, which is perhaps more informative, but does not have quite the same magic.
