Chinard bust (terracotta)

I had never before heard of sculptor Joseph Chinard, but I think his terracotta bust of Etienne-Vincent Marniola, 1809, is simply beautiful.   (Again, only the zoom will enable you to appreciate this work.)

Wedding Dance (Brueghel)

At the Detroit Institute of Art site, you can use their zoom feature to get quite close to the Wedding Dance, 1566, by Pieter Brueghel. Getting up close makes all the difference!

Sèvres vase

You can't get quite close enough to this Sèvres vase, 1813, to appreciate it properly.  But you can see that it's extraordinary.
