A question rather often on my mind these days is: What is prayer? (and what is it good for?) Mahatma Gandhi offers this:
Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one's weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.Okay, but I think that prayer can certainly also be asking. Much of prayer in fact is probably asking, and I suspect that is perfectly fine.
